Introduction
Lingo180.com is an online language-learning service operated by A Company, a registered sole proprietorship. Full operator, registration and contact details are in our Legal Notice. These terms govern your use of the service — please read them before you sign up.
1. The service
Lingo180.com teaches German, Korean, English and Spanish from A1 to B1 on a 180-day plan, with vocabulary, grammar, listening, pronunciation, conversation, quizzes, learning games and progress tracking, and a teacher console for running classes. It is offered free of charge and as paid plans ("Premium"); Premium is bought on the web and billed by Paddle.
2. Accepting these terms
By signing up or using the service you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
3. Your account
An account is personal and may be used by one person only. Sharing an account is a breach of these terms and may lead to restriction or closure without prior notice and without a refund for the remaining period. You are responsible for your password and for everything done under your account; if you suspect unauthorised use, tell us at support@lingo180.com straight away. A free account can be signed in on one device at a time; a paid plan, a teacher account and a student in a teacher's class on up to three.
4. Free use and Premium
For three months from the day you sign up, learners can use the A1 stage free of charge, with no payment details. Nothing is charged when you sign up, and free use never turns into a paid plan on its own. Premium opens the A2 and B1 stages, the games at A2 and B1 level and member battles. A learner with their own Premium plan can change the learning language up to twice a month. When a plan ends, your learning records are kept and the account returns to free use.
5. Prices, renewal and cancellation
Learner Premium is sold as three plans: 1 month, 3 months and Lifetime. The 1-month and 3-month plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel; Lifetime is a single payment and does not renew. Prices are listed on our pricing page. Prices are in US dollars (USD) and exclude VAT. Applicable VAT is calculated and added at checkout by Paddle, our merchant of record. If your card or account uses another currency, your card issuer or bank converts the amount and may apply its own exchange rate or fees. You can cancel a renewing plan at any time on the account page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; Premium stays available until the end of the period you have paid for. 6. Teacher plans
Teacher plans provide a set number of student seats for 1, 6 or 12 months. Teacher prices are given individually once a teacher account has been verified, on the plan page of the teacher console and at checkout. Every approved teacher account starts with six months free for five student accounts. No extra seats can be bought during the free period, and nothing is charged when it ends unless the teacher buys a plan. Students in a teacher's class use the teacher's seats and pay nothing. The teacher can see the learning progress and the homework and test results of the students in the class. Teacher accounts and students in a teacher's class cannot change the learning language.
7. Challenging a friend
Members can e-mail a game invitation to a friend who has no account. Send invitations only to people you can reasonably expect to want them; they may not be used for advertising or bulk sending. The number of invitations per day is limited.
8. Acceptable use
Using someone else's account, sharing an account, disrupting the service, automated collection (scraping) or bulk extraction, copying, distributing or selling content, using it to train AI, and any unlawful use are prohibited.
9. Content and rights
The rights to the learning content, audio and design of the service belong to A Company or the rightful owners. Learners may use the content for their own study; teachers may also use it to teach their classes.
10. Service availability
We aim for a reliable service but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted. Maintenance, updates and outages of third-party services may interrupt access.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and we do not guarantee that you will pass any exam. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Restriction and closure
We may restrict or close accounts that breach these terms, in particular for account sharing and unauthorised data extraction. You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account on the account page. Deleting your account does not cancel a renewing plan, so cancel it first.
13. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms and announce material changes in the service or by email at least 7 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the changed terms.
